“The Village” directed by Daniel Espirito Santo is a charming short video (below) shot in Óbidos, a small village in Portugal. Thanks to tilt-shift trickery, the town appears as an adorable miniature. (Can that be his real name ‘Espirito Santo’? Amen?)

Left is a ’tilt shift’ photo by Nicola De Pisapla (is this her real name?) and you  click HERE to see 50 beautiful examples of Tilt Shift.

It’s easy to recreate this effect on an existing photo in photoshop but if you want to create it with your camera it’s a little bit tricky. Here in this video (below Weekend Project), if you can cope with the instructor Kip Kane Walker (is that his real name?), he will tell you HOW to do Tilt Shift from scratch – you will need a toilet plunger some hot glue, a drill and lots and lots of patience. Hey it’s a Weekend Project…
