The End Of The Frozen Face

If you were going to change one thing about your looks, what would it be? In the ongoing quest for eternal youth, or at least eternal youthful looks, one product has dominated all others in recent times. Botox, or botulinum toxin type A to give it its formal name, has become synonymous with the treatment of wrinkles or frown lines.

Thanks to its widespread adoption particularly by TV, film and music celebrities it has become a must have beauty treatment for those concerned with their facial looks. However, its popularity has resulted in access to it becoming almost too easy. Office workers can pop into their local beauty salon over lunch for a top up, and brides to be swear by it.

But easy access means overuse is common too. Some patients are getting so many areas of the face treated at the same time that their faces appear almost completely frozen! Their lips move when they speak, and their eyes blink, but apart from that nothing else moves at all.

Thankfully this trend for frozen faces finally seems to be going out of vogue, in favour of a return to a (slightly) more natural look. Here at WhatClinic.com interest in Botox treatments for the first four months of this year while still strong has fallen by 8% compared to the same time period last year.

That’s not to say that cosmetic beauty treatments are going out of fashion though. Demand for lip augmentation is at an all time high, so maybe the return of the trout pout is just around the corner. So if you could change one thing about your looks, what would it be?
