On Friday 27th of May an annual mass for Our Lady was held at Harrington’s Square, Dillons Cross in Cork. On the poster it said “All are Welcome” and refreshments were provided afterwards. I saw the A4 poster in our local shop in St. Lukes and the day after mass I took it and sent it to Anita Hohengasser in Gachnang, a small village outside Winterthur in Switzerland. I sent it because she loves all things to do with the BVM and this was such a simple and beautiful poster. After I posted it I had this idea that I would take all the small posters from a pub or restaurant in Cork and send them to Gachnang and then Anita might send me all the posters from a restaurant in Switzerland and we could do a very small “art project” just by swapping the posters. Then I forgot about that idea – saying to myself “could I be bothered?”…
Unprompted, Anita emailed me these images from Switzerland today. She posted the poster in different locations near where she lives. Now I’m thinking… maybe we will do that ‘art project’.
You know, if it keeps me off the crack cocaine it can’t be a bad thing.
