I’m writing this on the weekend before the election 2011. And you are looking at a photo of Brian Cowen, not a bad photo, I could have got really ‘good’ ones of him looking pissed. No, it’s not a bad picture at all. But If you’re like me – you’re probably happy that we will have a whole bunch of newish faces after the election on Friday.

What’s bothering me is that I’m meeting people everyday who say they’re probably not going to vote at all. It’s totally understandable if you’re not sure who you’ll vote for – the choice isn’t great – but this has been the longest, most in your face, election campaign ever – so surely, you’re still not sure?

I could go on about how lucky we are to have fair and open elections, that we all have a duty to vote blaa de blaa… But if you don’t vote on Friday – you can do “the shutting up thing” and put your little  head on this cushion and gently drift into a coma until the next election.
