Money and Art – Art and Money. They have always been connected but Hans-Peter Feldmann has taken this to the limit. “A German visual artist, Feldmann’s approach to art-making is one of collecting, ordering and re-presenting – he is a leading figure in the conceptual art movement.
But it his exhibition at the Guggenheim in New York that he is best know for. “As the winner of the 2010 HUGO BOSS PRIZE, a biennial award recognizing significant achievement in contemporary art, Feldmann received an honorarium of $100,000. For his solo exhibition at the Guggenheim, he has chosen to pin this exact amount to the gallery walls in a grid of overlapping one-dollar bills.
