Amnesty International have some of the best ads. I have already posted one they have done on landmines and one on corrupt dictators. This one goes a step further. Here Amnesty is highlighting Domestic Violence. This bus stop shelter poster shows a man about to strike a woman but there is a camera positioned just above the poster and is activitated when a passer-by looks directly at the poster, then there is a programmed short delay and the image changes to a happy couple posing for a photograph. The copy – It happens when nobody is watching. Brilliant.
We all know advertising works so let’s hope this helps stop domestic violence on women and men. Looking at this as a passive Graphic Designer it just makes you want to do better graphic work.
