Birthdays were very important and highly anticipated events when I was growing up. All the food was home made – and the party was always held in our own dining room at home in Lewis Road. As I was born in July, we all gobbled down the sugary food and raced out into the back garden and ran around screaming like mad things, for hours. Oh, the simplicity of it all. We have great 10″ X 8″ black and white photographs of  25 or 30 kids all standing in a semi-circle around  a table heaving with food with some kids standing on chairs in the background. We weren’t allowed touch any of the food of course until all the photos were taken, but there was always one kid with his hand on a chocolate eclair and his head leaning forward sucking on a straw in a bottle of Fanta.

And then suddenly there was “Party Bags” How did that happen?

Well – we’re all like children again – anticipating Samui’s Birthday Party which is planned for  the end of March (date to be announced – watch this space). Samui, Cork’s most desired Fashion Boutique is TEN years old. Yay! well done Clodagh Shorten! and three cheers for Mary-Claire, Irene and Linda – you all play a critical role in keeping the women of Cork, Ireland’s best dressed women. Everybody you speak to has a different idea of what the party will be like – but it’s one party that everybody wants to be at. It promises to be super special – Aoife Horgan and Cathy Cowen of The PR Boutique are sending out the invitations! Oh, to be on that list.
