The Ballyvolane House Spring Newsletter is full of good news – with lots of exciting things planned for the great summer ahead. It’s definitely the best designed newsletter that I get by email – so it’s always read. One thing that looks good in the latest edition is the Dorian Gray Theatre and Dinner on Saturday April 30th. Wonderland Productions presents ‘The Picture of Dorian Gray’ by Oscar Wilde. Adapted and directed by Alice Coghlan, performed by Simon Coury, Michael James Ford and Michael Winder.

Do you think you could manage this: Drinks on the lawn from 7pm, dinner served in the Bohemian Tent at 8pm where the play will be performed afterwards. There is even a tour of the garden by Jeremy Green thrown in – and all of this for 55 euro.

The owners of Ballyvolane House, Justin & Jenny Green also confirm that they recently joined the HIP Hotel CollectionHighly Individual Places – (HIP) are hard to come by: they are places that provide stories for many a dinner party to come; generate travel experiences to be treasured, and above all, become desinations in their own right.

And in July…

The final event is a Charity Beer & Curry Feast on Friday, 22 July. This is a fundraiser for the Malawi Orphan Appeal Fund whose aim is to help orphans to stay in their home villages and continue their education. There will be a charity auction after the feast. Arun Kapil from Green Saffron the spice specialists will entertain the guests and give a cookery demo during the feast. In addition, Cormac O’Dywer from the Dungarvan Brewing Company will match up their fantastic artisan beers with Arun’s curries. All cooked and served by the team at Ballyvolane House. The event will be held in the vintage tent in the gardens and promises to be one of the highlights of the summer.
