“Putting together a great color palette for your design work can be one of the most challenging aspects of any project”. So begins this piece I found on Art Varsity – this is a condition that thankfully we do not suffer from in Raven Design. Usually any websites or blogs on colour are too technical and ignore the fact that some graphic artists actually went to art college and learnt the ‘colour bit’ before the ‘graphics bit’. I like this exercise in colour as it refers directly to paintings. But many websites and blogs on colour miss the part that colour is instinctive for some people.
.
It does come with a warning… “Of course, computer algorithms are not perfect; they miss key accent colors frequently and make questionable decisions on extracting the dominant tones. BUT, this is an exercise in inspiration, so there’s a certain advantage to these imperfections.” So away we go – enjoy these images and colour palettes – just for the love of colour. For any Interior designers out there – use one of these palettes for a room and call it the Degas Drawing Room or even the Pollock Parlour!
