By the time we get into our 70s and 80s we will all be on lots of medication. Some people can be on up to 20 pills per day. These are made in different Pharmaceutical plants all over the world using many, many different and probably conflicting ingredients. And as we get older we get more confused – it’s happening already – so can DESIGN help people take their DRUGS? Sounds weird, but even with those dinky four-by-seven pill cases that hold tablets, vitamins, and over-the-counter pain relievers you know – when the compartment is empty – that means you more than likely have taken the tablets. Or have I?

The problem is that the average person doesn’t even know what each one is for. When I checked my own mothers pill case recently, with someone who knew their drugs, of the 12 pills there was a stimulant AND a depressant. Well that’s two tablets right there we can throw out the window because they cancel each other out! OK, some tablets look different but a lot of them look the same. This is where DESIGN comes in – we should have designs on the drugs (just like the ones on recreational drugs).

This idea is the brainchild of Eric Freitag and it’s worth checking out his ideas HERE.
